Focus Groups
DOAR's Interactive Focus Group fully examines the perceived strengths and weakness of your case from jurors' viewpoints. We conduct each focus group in an informal atmosphere where jurors, facilitated by a jury consultant, are encouraged to discuss candidly their perceptions of, and reactions to, the case issues and arguments as presented to them. Our research team administers questionnaires at various intervals throughout the research session to identify and record jurors' reactions to the case facts. Jurors' evaluation of the case serves either to affirm a pre-existing case strategy or identifies prospective case strategies and themes that might prove more effective at trial.
In addition, our research team also uses the focus groups to evaluate the jurors' comprehension of the case's fundamental subject matter. This is a necessary foundation for understanding the overall case theory. Our experience has taught us that "understanding what jurors don't understand" is a critically important first step in developing an effective case strategy.
