Witness Preparation
Our researchers understand that first impressions are particularly important to jurors, who often form immediate impressions of lawyers, the judge and most importantly, the witness. These first impressions can color the lenses through which jurors view witness testimony. More importantly, these impressions can influence the jurors' consideration of the testimony later on, during deliberations.
DOAR knows it is critically important that each of your witnesses exudes honesty and credibility. Our witness preparation assistance takes several forms, from simple guidance to rehearsal within an actual courtroom setting. We'll discuss issues of eye contact, appropriate and inappropriate pausing, posture, attire and voice tone. We'll also address more critical points, such as a witness's inability to answer a question.
All of this preparation is aimed at generating a positive first impression among the jurors and promoting the effectiveness and believability of the witness testimony. Our consultants help witnesses present themselves more effectively by reviewing their presentation style and critiquing the content of their testimony.
