Imaging/Coding

Today's legal work often involves large volumes of discovery material - both paper and electronic - that can overwhelm your in-house resources. Whether you are helping your client respond to a regulatory investigation or preparing an important case for trial, you need experienced consultants that can get your document imaging and coding projects done fast and done right.

Imaging

DOAR's experienced litigation support team provides large-volume, fast-turnaround imaging of discovery documents that are formatted according to the client's specifications. Our project managers oversee each project and offer updates and status reports on a regular basis. We take a consultative approach to document imaging that enables our clients to determine the most efficient, cost-effective solutions and receive a product that meets their specific needs.

DOAR performs all of its imaging in-house at our 34,000 sq. ft. facility. We can process 100,000 pages per day and run our operation around the clock for big jobs.

In addition to working fast, we get the job done right. Our managers implement 100% quality control under a seven-step process that virtually eliminates unreadable documents.

Quality Assurance

A dual-inspection quality assurance process utilizes visual examinations of the imaged documents by two individuals. One operator hand-feeds the document into the scanner, and a separate operator, at his own work station, verifies there are no missing pages within the document, that the data were captured successfully, that proper level codes were assigned and that the image keys match the Bates numbers, where applicable.

This visual confirmation is an integral part of DOAR's quality-assurance program. While other vendors rely on statistical sampling for their quality control, we raise the bar by incorporating hands-on review to each facet of our imaging/scanning operation.

Coding

Once the electronic documents are imaged, the next critical step is coding, which enables your legal team to identify important documents quickly. Our experts build a database of information that is tailored to the needs of your case. Before we code anything, our project manager will consult with your legal team and determine exactly what you want and when you want it.

We offer both objective coding and subjective coding. Objective coding provides basic bibliographic information, such as the type of document, date, author, recipient, etc. Our Web Repository is the perfect environment for trial team members to oversee the subjective coding based on their specific criteria. We search for keywords and relevant data in the documents and provide a full, accurate index to reduce the burden on your legal team.

With either process, DOAR's experts code all documents directly from image, which helps you to control costs.
