Business Development Manager

DOAR is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to whose primary focus will be to increase business opportunities for DOAR.  BDM will establish new client relationships for DOAR by generating new cases, setting and attending meetings with elite law firms with the goal to promote DOAR and our practices. This will be accomplished by utilizing a combination of legal docket and news research, email marketing, outbound calling, and various social media strategies, and conferences.  The BDM will also play a key role in identifying and mapping business strengths and client needs.  Successful candidates must have strong sales experience and a background in one of the following areas: Intellectual Property, Financial Services, or Employment. Candidates must also have experience working at large law firms and strong case management skills, impeccable communication skills, be highly motivated and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, sales initiative and independence in supporting DOAR on a wide variety of complex issues. A high level of legal analytical and organizational skills is required in order to identify emerging legal trends, potential client prospects, and to execute tasks as necessary.


Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business/case opportunities.
  • Research business growth opportunities and industry trends locally and internationally.  Develop strategies and plans to increase client database.
  • Makes outbound calls and utilizes email marketing to set meetings with clients with the goal of generating new client relationships and new business for DOAR.
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of the business services and value proposition.
  • Successful candidates will be motivated, creative, analytical, efficient, and will have superior organizational and detail skills.  Works well independently, is highly motivated and self-directed.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Law Degree or MBA preferred.
  • A strong business development background with an understanding of either: Intellectual Property, Financial Services or Employment is required.
  • Must have superior legal research skills as well as being adept at using Legal News Sources and Legal Research Sources such as Westlaw/Lexis/Bloomberg/Law360.
  • Experience working with C-level executives & law firm partners.
  • Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy.
  • Experience in handling sensitive/confidential business matters and information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office & knowledge of various CRM (i.e.: Bullhorn) and/or litigation support applications
