Congratulations to the trial teams at Quinn Emanuel and Cohen Milstein on securing a victory for their client, Pacific Steel Group (PSG), in a high-stakes antitrust case against Texas rebar giant Commercial Metals Co. (CMC).
After less than 3 hours of deliberations, a unanimous nine-member jury found CMC liable for multiple antitrust violations that prohibited PSG, a San Diego-based steel fabricator, from effectively competing in the market. The jurors awarded PSG $74 million in lost profits and $36 million in additional damages, which was the full amount sought by PSG’s counsel.
