Jury Delivers Record Verdict Against Online Ghost Gun Seller Husky Armory in Kentucky Teen’s Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The verdict, $4.2m in compensatory damages and $100m in punitive damages, sends a powerful message to the ghost gun industry.

DOAR is proud to have supported Everytown Law, Thomas Law Offices, and their client, Laura Herp, in this major victory against online ghost gun seller Husky Armory and its parent company, Up North Media LLC. A jury awarded the largest ever verdict—$4.2 million in compensatory damages and $100 million in punitive damages—to the family of an underage teenager who purchased a gun-building kit from the gun seller that led to his death by handgun suicide. This verdict sends a powerful message to the ghost gun industry to hold them responsible for illegal gun sales, marketing, and manufacturing.

DOAR provided jury research and trial strategy consulting on a pro bono basis as part of our ongoing support of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in America.

Congratulations to Dana Mulhauser at Everytown Law, Tad Thomas at Thomas Law Offices, and Laura Herp, mother of the teen, Henry Willis, and the administrator of his estate, on the impactful win.
