CEO and Other Employees Acquitted of All Federal Charges in PA Nursing Homes Case

Congratulations to the trial teams at Goodwin Procter, Clark Hill PLC, Chapman Law Group, Ballard Spahr LLP, and Welsh & Recker PC for the acquittal of all charges against their clients—Comprehensive Healthcare Management Services CEO Sam Halper and employees Susan Gilbert, Johnna Haller, Eva Hamilton and Michelle Romeo.

Following five weeks of testimony before U.S. District Judge Robert J. Colville in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the federal jury deliberated for less than two full days before returning a not guilty verdict on 14 charges that accused the defendants of conspiracy and falsifying records used to report the conditions and needs of two Pennsylvania nursing homes to state and federal regulators.

DOAR was proud to assist defense counsel with the presentation of demonstratives and evidence during trial.
